Summer 2016
Feeling the islander vibe in Boracay at sunset (Feb-2016) |
Journal Entry... At February's tail end, hubby told me to pack my bags, board a plane, and head down south to the island of Boracay. I never traveled alone but... In the Philippines, one can head to the beach any time-- it is made up of 7,100 islands as of last count surrounded by the ocean. in the Philippines, the "Four Seasons" do not apply. Everyday is summer, all hot and humid 365 days of the year.

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun."
True enough, skies turned overcast in the days that followed. Sun hid shyly in the clouds, and exited quietly each day. I did not mind the cool breeze from overseas, which helped dissipate the tropical heat. I realized February is a better time of the year to head to the beach.

Check-in #MarzonBeachResort, in Station 3. Station 3 is where the old Boracay charm as I remember it survives. When you get older and want some peace and quiet on the island, and when the once sweeping beach front at Station 1 is no longer, I'd put my flag to Station 3. Or, maybe not for long? Heard from a local that a casino is in the works to crop up nearby. So until then, let my photos do the talking on what I had caught at the beach in Boracay. 'Cause at the beach, remember to take nothing but photos.

27-feb: Off to Station 1... On the last day, hubby and I did a bit of strolling from Station 3 (where we were at) up to Station 1. At Station 1 is one can find the Grotto of the Virgin Mary atop a rock formation out at sea. It was then low tide when we got to Station 1, and the Grotto was accessible on foot. As there's always a time for prayer on every travel... even at the beach.
