Sunny-Orange Stop in Munich

Munich
Winter 2013

On a crossroad in Munich
(Feb-2013)

Journal Entry... Winter season was on its tail end in the Bavaria region... Fresh snow had turned to gritty slush on the ground, and snow flurries reverted to rainwater. Munich atmosphere was kind of gloomy, it had a mood affecting effect.

Two Peas in Munich
13-feb: Arrived Munich... It did not help any I was getting paranoid over a vagabond (male), who went inside Burger King at the Salzburg train station, table hopping asking for money; I gave him a Euro coin but he grumbled about the coin denomination asking for more. I later saw he had hopped on the same train hubby and I were in, as it headed for Munich, from Salzburg. Vagabond kept walking the train aisle, as it turns out he had to dodge the ticket inspector in the train; vagabond went inside the train's WC... and reappeared later, inside McDonald's at the Munich train station, where hubby had left me to make a phone call to the apartment agent. I pointed the vagabond out to hubby when he came back to get me in McDonald's, whilst the vagabond was then standing out the door with an eerie look on his face staring back at me... probably remembering his grumbling about the coin denomination I gave him, lol.
Marienplatz at Munich's old city center bears the "Statue of the Virgin Mary" on a pedestal
Meanwhile, hubby was getting irritated by the minute about the delay in apartment check-in, since he could not properly contact the apartment agent, as well as the apartment owner. The apartment was not hubby's first choice to begin with, because it was not in a central location at Agnestrasse. Hubby had earlier booked for an apartment near Marienplatz, but it got cancelled by the apartment owner saying there was something wrong with the apartment, but hubby surmised another traveler had booked for a longer stay. Back to Agnestrasse apartment, neither one of the apartment agent, or the apartment owner, showed up; we were just told to go to a numbered mailbox to retrieve the key to the apartment... Check-in: Agnestrasse apartment.
On Marienplatz stop
When bright orange shone all over the place... How can it suddenly turn up sunny underground in winter? What do you know... It's the "ORANGE STOP" at Marienplatz. Such an orange of a color brought a smile to my face, and had me instantly looking at Munich now in an orange-y light... none of that winter gloom and gritty outdoors anymore.
On Marienplatz stop
Marienplatz at Munich's old city center bears the "Statue of the Virgin Mary" up on a pedestal. By the Marienplatz' water fountain, there's a running legend-- dipping one's purse in the water pool, it is said, ensures many returns; not by my Gucci leather bag, I won't! And what's the story behind that Frauenkirch's footstep, anyway? Read it up... some interesting story about having someone fooled, big time.
When in Munich must-drink beer at the Hofbrauhaus; hubby had more than enough from those two humongous mugs of beer [hear hubby's version], after the waiter thought he was ordering for two... but I don't drink, only photo-op. Also, must-eat pork hock at Haxnbauer, for a heart-stopping meal; hubby got embarrassed to order a takeaway pork hock, so he sent me in to get it while he waited outside, a big lol to hubby!
Riding Z4 at BMW Welt in Munich
Dropped by the BMW Welt, where an orange-Z4 on display caught hubby's attention (...who then wished he could trade-in his silver Z4 for the orange one*wink;)
